Birding

People who enjoy the natural world are drawn to the West Volusia County region and the St. Johns River, home to many rare and endangered species.

Our area has the second largest population of nesting bald eagles in the United States, and also hosts the second largest pre-migration stop of the graceful swallow-tail kite July - August.

For the best of nature viewing, we highly recommend you partake of river transportation to enhance your experience. Your choices range from kayaks, canoes, fishing and houseboats to guided eco-history river cruises.
