The 2022 Annual DeLand Christmas Boat Parade has been canceled due to the unfortunate flooding and damage from Hurricane Ian and Nicole.
The DeLand St. Johns River Christmas Boat Parade is held annually in December. Holidays are a little different here in Florida. Just as it wouldn’t be Mardi Gras in New Orleans without the floats, here in West Volusia, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without the St. Johns River Christmas Boat Parade. Limited only by imagination, each of the themed entries sparkles with thousands of lights. Ed Stone Park in DeLand and Lake Beresford Yacht Club are great spots to view the parade.
Parade STARTS in Lake Beresford (north/east side) about 6pm and travels along the shores of the lake to the St. Johns River where it will go past Hontoon St Park (about 6:30pm) up the river northbound to the Whitehair Bridge (SR 44) and Ed Stone Park (about 7:00pm) and ENDING past the St. Johns Marina North River Grille!
This is a slow moving procession, subject to weather, speed of boats, etc…times are estimated! This floating festival of lights has been the second Saturday of December for over 50 years!
For campers, there are prime viewing spots available from Hontoon Island State Park.
