Cycling

SPIN YOUR WHEELS

On road and off, bicycling is a popular activity in West Volusia County, and for good reason.

You’ll discover a different side of Florida on our trails that wind through small friendly communities, alongside the magnificent St. Johns River; and through local, county, state and national parks - all from the seat of a bicycle. Our abundant and varied cycling opportunities offer something for cyclists of all ages and abilities.

The West Volusia County region has two multi-use trail systems: the Spring to Spring Trail and the East Central Regional Rail Trail, which are incomplete, but still offer miles of recreational enjoyment as they traverse through shaded tree canopies, open prairie, cypress swamp and magnificent vistas of pristine lakes and the St. Johns River.

These large trail systems are part of an even larger trail: The St. Johns River to Sea Loop – which is still in development, and will be a cyclist’s dream.

  • Spring to Spring Trail

When complete, the Spring to Spring Trail will stretch 26 miles from Gemini Springs Park in DeBary to DeLeon Springs State Park located in DeLeon Springs.

  • East Central Regional Rail Trail

The ECRRT is constructed along the longest abandoned rail line ever purchased in Florida. When complete, the rail trail will stretch 50 miles, from Enterprise to Edgewater, with a 10-mile leg through Brevard County to Titusville.

  • Mountain Biking

The Chuck Lennon Mountain Biking Trail is unique in Central Florida with great features that make it excellent riding for experienced mountain bikers.

  • On Road Bicycling Routes

One of the best places from which to appreciate our spectacular landscapes, historic sites, wildlife, welcoming communities and bountiful recreational resources is the seat of a bicycle.
