The fourth annual Living History Day comes to DeBary Hall Historic Site

A civil war era camp and a medical tent will be displayed by the 37th Alabama Regiment Company H, a Civil War re-enactment group, offering presentations on Civil War weapons, life and artifacts.
Presentations in the Stable:
10am and 12pm:
Retired teacher Nancy Schleicher will portray Dolley Madison, a former first lady of the United States, during a one-woman show.

11am and 1pm:
Local historians will break down “What’s Under the Dress,” taking a look at and discussing the history of each layer of the dresses worn by women of the mid-1800s.

2pm and 3pm:
Local actors Bill and Cara Elder will portray George and Martha Washington.
Registration is required in advance for all presentations in the stable. There is no charge to attend presentations held in the stable or outdoor venues.

10am, 12pm and 2pm:

Visitors can also tour the 150-year-old winter hunting lodge of the DeBary family and visit with reenactors portraying various family members, including Frederick deBary. Advance registration is required. Admission prices are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children 2 and younger.

Visitors are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy against the scenic background of DeBary Hall. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
