Lake Helen Christmas Parade & Santa’s Village  11/24/18

The City of Lake Helen will be hosting their annual Christmas Parade and Santa’s Village. Parade begins at 4:00 p.m. (Parade line up will begin at 3 p.m. at the corner of Main St. and Summit Ave.). After the parade join us at the Equestrian Center for Santa’s Village and the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Butler Express Christmas Train, Food Trucks, Market Vendors, Bounce House, Music, a visit with Santa and our second annual Ugly Sweater Contest. Lake Helen Equestrian Center is located at 321 Pleasant Street Lake Helen, FL 32744.

Light Up DeLand  11/30/18

Santa will ride in on a fire engine to light the beautiful DeLand City Hall Christmas tree at 5:30. He will continue on to Pioneer Park at 6pm for photos.

Light Up Orange City   11/30/18

Join us at the steps of City Hall for Christmas Carols sung by the Signsations chorus.  After that, watch the Mayor flip the switch and light the city up! There will be a snow slide, bounce house, and holiday train for all to enjoy (free admission).  Food trucks will have food available for purchase.  Movie in the Park will be held at Dickinson Park and will feature A Christmas Story.

An Old Fashioned Christmas.  December 1st.  2 – 4 pm

Popcorn and cranberry strung to decorate a tree, handmade ornaments to take home.  Glue, glitter, paper, scissors, felt, wire, and more glue! We will have a wide assortment of ornaments for the children to make. We will decorate the tree in the DeLand House Museum with some of our completed ornaments and the rest will go home. We’ll also have Christmas cookies to munch on while we work!

Ages 9 – 12. Free for WVHS members; $5 for non-members.​​

Free Family Activities and More — Join the City of DeBary for photos with Santa, live entertainment, synthetic ice skating.   Register your chili for the cook off by 11/29.

The Rotary Clubs of DeLand are proud to present the Annual DeLand Christmas Parade, Saturday December 1st.  The parade begins at 5:30pm and run north to south.

City of Lake Helen’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting   12/4/18

Enjoy Christmas carols sung by the students of Ivy Hawn Charter School, Volusia Pines Elementary School and the local Boys & Girls Club

Mayor Daisy Raisler, Vice Mayor Vernon Burton, Commissioner Tom Wilson, Commissioner Michael Woods and Commissioner Jim Connell will light the Christmas Tree.

Popcorn and Apple Cider provided by the Crafty Ladies
as well as arrival of Special Guest – Santa Claus.   The event is free!

Orange City Christmas Village and Parade  12/8/18

On November 8th, the City of Orange City will host the Orange City Christmas Village and Parade.  The Christmas Village Craft Fair begins at 11am and includes photos with Santa in the Dickinson Park gazebo.  The parade begins at 5pm and runs along Volusia Avenue from French to Ohio.

Mistletoe & Music 12/8/18

Florida is everyone’s favorite vacation spot, even Santa. This year we’re transforming Mistletoe & Music into a “Florida Christmas.” While not required, feel free to wear your best holiday Hawaiian shirt and bring your Adirondack chair beause we have The Landsharks Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band coming!!

Mistletoe & Music is set to become a signature holiday event in DeLand. The 4th annual event is scheduled for Saturday December 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The amphitheatre lawn in Earl Brown Park will be surrounded by local vendors and delicious food trucks. The event is FREE to attend and all are welcome. Lawn seating so bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Celebrating the City of DeBary’s 25 Anniversary

December 9th at 3pm – The parade route runs south to north Spring Vista to Poinsettia.

Butler Express Train Rides – Select Dates and Times

The Butler Express Rides Again – December 7-8, December 14-15, December 21-23 from 6-9pm nightly.

The train will embark and disembark at the Lake Helen Equestrian Center. The ride will last about 20 minutes. This is strictly an estimated time.

The train will take you around the town of Lake Helen to see as many Christmas decorations as possible. It will be a wonderful way to view the “Gem” of Florida and get into the spirit of the Holiday Season.

The route is still being determined as it will be based on Christmas decorations. We encourage everyone in town to decorate.

You will purchase tickets for the train at the center. TICKETS WILL BE CASH ONLY and can be purchased at the time of the ride. We can not offer advanced purchases of tickets.

Pricing is listed as follows:

0-3 years old: Free — lap sitting
4-12 years old: $3.00
13 and older: $5.00


Due to this being our first year back up and operating and time constraints, the train will not be wheelchair accessible.

The Garden Club of DeLand will offer tips on making a holiday centerpiece with materials from your yard at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.
