Hello West Volusia! Rose Torres, is the creator of local sweets and travel blog: @CakeandPartyDIY and recently did an Instagram Takeover in celebration of National Ice Cream Day, which is July 15th!! Did we go to your local Ice Cream shop? Who knows? I invite you to follow along on this West Volusia Ice Cream Tour with us and discover the sweetness of West Volusia. Perhaps you will find a new favorite ice cream shop or flavor to try.
Day 1 – Shop 1 – Posted Friday 7/13
Simply Sweet Ice Cream – Hi folks, I’m Rose Torres from @CakeandPartydiy. We begin our West Volusia Ice Cream Tour with one of the trendiest, cutest and most adorable ice cream shop in Deland. Enjoy a beautiful pink candy theme décor indoors or the beautiful front yard (when it’s not too hot). This place is available for birthday parties and ice cream socials! I enjoyed my favorite ice cream flavor, chocolate mint and strawberry with sprinkles of course! I’ll tell you a secret, they also sell Italian desserts and cookies! And yes! you can order by the tray! I can see myself making the drive to Victoria Park in Deland, just to enjoy this super cute shop….Located: 1431 Orange Camp Rd #109, DeLand, FL 32724
Day 1 – Shop 2 – Posted Friday 7/13
Danny’s Ice Cream – Hello, I’m Rose Torres from @CakeandPartydiy. Our 2nd stop of the West Volusia Ice Cream Tour is Danny’s Ice Cream in DeLeon Springs. I fell in love with this shop, not only because they sell delicious homemade ice cream, they also sell paletas (popsicles), authentic Mexican tacos and Aguas Frescas (fresh juices). Yes! That’s right TACOS! I tried a lemon paleta and it was juicy and freshly delicious! Since they have awesome reviews, we are definitely coming back for tacos. The shop is cozy, the service is fast, and attendants will treat you like a rey or a reina!….Located: 4824 US Highway 17, De Leon Springs, FL 32130
Day 2 – Shop 3 – to be posted Saturday 7/14
Deltona Ice Cream – Hi friends, I’m Rose Torres from @CakeandPartydiy. Our next stop of our West Volusia Ice Cream Tour is Deltona Ice Cream. Look at this massive cone of creamy yumminess! If I have to pick a favorite ice cream of the whole tour, this would be the one! A 2-scoop large cone is more like a 6-scoop gigantic one! You have to try the garbage pail flavor: vanilla ice cream with peanut butter Reese’s, Snickers and M&M’s! It’s to die for! Deltona Ice Cream is a non-pretentious shop located at the intersection of Howland and Elkcam Blvd and they have been here for over 25 years! They have a drive-thru open until 9pm, which is perfect for those late night ice cream cravings…..Located: 2801 Elkcam Blvd; Deltona, Florida 32738
Day 2 – Shop 4 – Posted Saturday, 7/13
Three Sister’s Ice Cream Palace – Hi Rose Torres here from @CakeandPartydiy. Our stop number 4 on the West Volusia Ice Cream Tour is 3 Sisters Ice Cream Palace. This is a little gem in the heart of Lake Helen. One of the sweet three sisters will serve you delicious ice cream, breakfast or lunch all day, and they have live music on the patio on Saturday nights! This is the most charming Ice Cream shop, with a rock and roll décor and where locals meet for breakfast. Even the menu is named after a few local neighbors. How awesome is that! They are available for birthday parties as well. I had to try their best seller, Superman Ice Cream, which is Fruit Loop flavor and a kids’ favorite!…Located: 101 E Ohio Ave # A, Lake Helen, FL 32744
Day 3 – Shop 5 – Posted Sunday 7/15
Ice Cream Fundaes – Happy National Ice Cream Day! Hi friends, I’m Rose from @CakeandPartydiy. Ice Cream Fundaes will be our last stop on the West Volusia Ice Cream Tour we did over the weekend. I love this shop and visit quite often since they are in my city. They definitely put the FUN in Fundaes! You will find all kinds of board games to entertain the kids (and yourself), while enjoying the most delicious sundaes or banana splits. I loved my tropical colors banana split: pistachio, mango, cotton candy with pineapple and strawberries! It was delicious! The staff is super friendly and the shop has the prettiest beach décor!….Located: 226 S Volusia Ave, Orange City, FL 32763
