New Set of West Volusia “Wings” to be Unveiled at Cassadaga Gala Day — Revealing Highlights Full Day of “Spirit” Activities
Cassadaga, FL – The trail of “Wings” in West Volusia County will soon have people flocking to a fourth display – this one in Cassadaga, FL. Erica Group will unveil her latest installment of the Wings of the West collection, Saturday, August 11 at Cassadaga’s “In Touch with Spirit Gala Day.”
Group, the artist who created the much publicized DeLand Wings mural on a downtown alley, was hired by the West Volusia Tourism Advertising Authority (WVTAA) to create and produce five new sets of wings at various West Volusia locations.
Group’s new set in Cassadaga is life-size fairy wings at the end of the fairy trail on Chauncey Street. The revealing is set for 11:00am at the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp as it celebrates its Gala Day, which includes a full day of activities at the oldest Spiritualist community in the Southeast. Readings, spiritual counseling, healing modalities and multiple speakers will be on hand, along with various vendors lining the streets of the historical community.
“Erica’s new wings in the area have left a positive impression, not only on her canvases but also on the community in which they reside,” said Georgia Turner, Executive Director of the WVTAA.
Turner said the new wings have driven visitors to all parts of West Volusia. “We know they are very popular,” she said. “Erica is a very talented artist and her new wings have sparked a surge in tourism numbers for West Volusia. Thousands of people have been photographed in front of the original wings and now they have other sets of wings to add to their collection.”
Other wing locations in addition to original alley mural are the bi-plane wings at Skydive DeLand; the peacock wings in the Barberville Pioneer Settlement; and now the newest set in Cassadaga.
