RELAX in West Volusia

Conveniently located between Orlando and Daytona Beach, the West Volusia County Region encompasses 14 distinct communities along the St. Johns River, I-4 and U.S. 17/17-92. A variety of unique accommodations and an eclectic mix of attractions, restaurants, shops and boutiques make this a popular spot for visitors from all over the world. The area is known for its diversity of vacation experiences, including houseboating, manatee viewing and bird watching, skydiving, golfing, fishing, touring authentic Florida heritage sites and art museums, a number of family friendly activities, and enjoy endless outdoor recreation on the St. Johns River.    The Daytona and New Smyrna area beaches and Orlando theme parks are just minutes away.   Whether you are looking for an affordable family vacation or you want to experience nature at its finest ; there is something for everyone.   There's no need to go far because West Volusia is well within reach, but a world apart!

Both Blue Spring State Park in Orange City and DeLeon Springs State Park in DeLeon  Springs offer a wide range of activities for all ages.  There is no way that you can see or do it all in just one day, so be sure to stay awhile.  Check out our online Visitor Guide for sample 5-day itineraries.

Blue Spring State Park is the winter home to hundreds of manatees.   See amazing wildlife, enjoy Old Florida landscapes, hike the nearby trails and boardwalks, or take a scenic river cruise on the St. Johns River.   You can also enjoy a picnic lunch or rent a kayak or segway.   Enjoy all of this, just a short drive from Orlando and Daytona Beach!

At DeLeon Springs State Park, enjoy swimming in a natural bottom pool as well as hiking, kayaking and wildlife viewing.  The park backs up to Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge, so wildlife viewing is at a premium at this park.   Make your own pancakes at table top griddles at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant.  Take a scenic river cruise or rent a kayak or paddleboat and explore on your own!
